![]() ![]() The best way to know how to use the mechanic is knowing the direction and speed of the target. You want to fire them so they'll impact where the target "will be" instead of where the target "was".Īllow the proper amount of time for flight/drop and leading of the target's movement. Each ship has their own "drop pattern" to become familiar with. It's good to test this at the beginning of a Co-op battle. Get near a target, hit the G key, the depth-charges drop and sink into the water and eventually explode. Stern-dropped depth-charges (mostly DD's and some Cruisers) are "fired" using the "G" key on the keyboard. I think subs were a dumb inclusion to the game, but they are here, and I don't think that depth charges should be an instakill against them.īut as I understand it, using them seems almost suicidal in game.Īre there any tips/tricks or something I've misunderstood about their use?Īir-strike depth-charges are apparently something you understand how to launch/fire. Easy enough.īut how are you supposed to use depth charges?Ģ) Get close enough to move over/very close to the subģ) Hope that as I'm passing over the sub, dodging enemy fire, that the depth charges hit itĤ) Hope that the sub doesn't ping/torp me as I'm moving towards it, or if I don't kill it as I'm moving away. Question though- I get how to use the BB(Some cruisers) "air drop" mechanic vs submarines. ![]() So figured I'd come back (at least un BG3 is out) and see how things were. ![]()
